Effortless Migration from Shopify to Selldone - A Step-by-Step Guide

I'm preparing an article about the process of transitioning from Shopify to Selldone. It's disappointing to note that Shopify doesn't allow us to publish our app that would facilitate an easy migration to Selldone. However, Selldone's API is openly accessible and its OAuth is readily available for all developers. The restrictive decision by Shopify to hinder its users from smoothly transferring their data to other platforms is objectionable and signals a warning. We are against the practice of scraping websites for information extraction, so there are two available migration methods:

1. Export a Shopify product Excel file, adjust it accordingly, and import it onto Selldone.
2. Use Selldone Connect OS with the manual setting of the API Key.

Migration from shopify to selldone

1- Navigate to the settings of your Shopify store.

2- Choose "Apps and sales channels" then click on "Develop App".

3- Click on "Create an app" to build a custom private app for your store.

4- Establish an access token scope for the Admin API. We use the Admin API to gather information. Remember to set the access to read-only since we don't alter anything on your Shopify store.

5- Configure the scopes as indicated in the following image.

6- Copy the Admin API key and keep it somewhere safe since it will only be displayed once.

7- Proceed to your Selldone shop > Channels > Connect Tab and click on "Connect New Service".

8- From the dropdown menu, select Shopify and paste your Shopify domain and Admin API Key into the appropriate fields. Then click on "Auto Connect To Shopify". As a suggestion, initially import a few (5) products and confirm everything is in order before importing all products and categories. If you encounter any issues, please reach out to us.

9- You should now be able to see the list of imported products in the Shopify connect panel on Selldone.

10- The imported Shopify products will appear in your store with a Shopify badge on them.

Once you remove Shopify from the Connect OS services, the Shopify badge will no longer be displayed on the top corner of the products.
